On 4/12/26, the Sharon Lions hosted a brunch to say "THANK YOU" to our terrific first responders from the town's police, fire and rescue departments. We were glad to see so many in attendance and it was fun sharing stories and learning about each other's commitment to community service. Thanks to Lion Elif Birkok for coordinating this event and for all the Lions who donated to and attended the brunch!

On 4/11/26, Sharon Lions joined the Sherborn Lions Club and other District 33K Lions for an eyeglass sorting and prescription reading event. Together we prepared hundreds of donated eyeglasses to be sent overseas to Tonga and Tanzania where Lions clubs will work with opticians to provide the eyeglasses to those in need.

On 3/21/26, Sharon Lions Leandra McLean and Rachel O. joined nearly 100 others -- including members from two dozen other Massachusetts Lions clubs -- for the 8th annual polar plunge in Lake Pearl. The event was hosted by the Norfolk and Wrentham Lions Clubs and they raised over $50,000 for Mass Lions Eye Research!

The Sharon Lions Club is participating in a service project to tackle menstrual period inequity and offer a box of supplies -- free for the taking -- for students in need at Sharon elementary schools. Special thanks to Leandra McLean for orchestrating this effort and to all others who donated funds or supplies to fill the bins.

On 2/13/26, Sharon Lions delivered beautiful baskets of Valentine's Day cards (with a special sweet treat inside) for each of the residents of local assisted living facilities including Foremost at Sharon and Brookmeadow at Cobb Corner in Stoughton. We helped to "spread the love" to the seniors on Valentine’s Day!

On 1/12/26, Sharon Lions members went to Community Servings in Mansfield to pack a week's worth of meals for distribution to families in need, specially organized for adults and kids with diabetes, cardiac issues, lactose intolerance, etc. The experience was incredibly rewarding and lots of fun!

On 1/10/26, Sharon Lions joined the Medway Lions Club and other District 33K Lions for an eyeglass cleaning and sorting event. Massachusetts Lions Clubs collect thousands of donated eyeglasses each year and each one is sorted, cleaned, and the prescriptions are read and charted. They are then packaged and sent overseas where Lions clubs work with opticians to provide the eyeglasses to those in need.

In December, several Sharon Lions assisted staff at local senior living facilities including Foremost at Sharon and Brookmeadow at Cobb Corner in Stoughton for fun holiday activities. We helped the residents make gingerbread houses, decorate cookies, and create holiday door decorations. The hot chocolate with peppermint spoons, and the yummy bakery treats all added to the festive atmosphere!
